During last week's FFA Week, Wednesday was Living to Serve Day! Greenon FFA partnered with service organizations Refuse to Do Nothing and Sole Hope to trace and cut denim into shoe patterns. These patterns will be made into shoes for toddlers in Uganda to help prevent jiggers. Thanks to our #GreenonKnights FFA students for making a difference!

Talkative and loves to read 📚 What was your favorite book as a child? Can't just have one---any Richard Scarry picture book, The Little House on the Prairie series. 🍎 What was your favorite school lunch? As a student ---I packed my lunch most of the time, as a teacher --I love a good tater tot!!! ✏ What was/is your favorite school supply? Crayons---nice and sharp with the sharpener built in---I still love a brand new box!

Thank you to the School Smile Dental program for visiting our #GreenonKnights this week! Dr. Jennifer Ingles and Breanne Bryant worked to clean teeth and provide dental care right at the school! We appreciate this service being offered right on campus for our students!

Congratulations to our #GreenonKnights student Kaity Fields! Her painting, “Roar of the Beast,” was chosen to represent Greenon High in the Ohio Arts Council House of Representatives High School Art Exhibition! This show features one piece of art from each of Ohio’s 99 House of Representative Districts. Kaity’s piece will represent our district, District 71. A print of her painting will hang in the Vern Riffe Center at Shawnee State University!

Supplies (including a 12’ swimming pool) are rolling in for our spring Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) engineering design project in Mr. Jenkins's STEM class! Thanks again to Battelle Ohio STEM Learning Network (OSLN) and the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation for their generosity of grant funds! #STEM

Congratulations to Garrett Mefford, from our technology department, for earning his CETL certification! CETL stands for Certified Educational Technology Leader, and certification identifies individuals who have mastered the skills and knowledge needed to bring 21st-century technology to schools. This certification is one of the highest Educational Technology certifications currently available in the State of Ohio. We're thrilled our #GreenonKnights staff continues to pursue personal development opportunities like this for themselves and our students!

Thank you to our 2024 Career Day Speakers! You are inspiring and educating our #GreenonKnights students! Students in grades 7-12 had the opportunity to preselect sessions they wanted to attend from over 35 career professionals. Our speakers included electricians, physical therapists, college professors, small business owners, EMTs, weather specialists, realtors, and more! Of the over 40 speakers today, 19 were Greenon Knights alums! Thank you to the Greenon Knights PTO for helping coordinate this event and providing a networking opportunity for our speakers.

🚨 School Record Alert🚨 On Sunday, our #GreenonKnights men’s 4x400 relay team, comprised of Zayne Jones, Andrew Duffey, Isaac Brodess, and Lincoln Moore, broke the indoor school record with a 3:58.18!

Our #GreenonKnights Pep Band had a great time playing with the Wright state University Pep Band at the WSU basketball game this weekend!

Meet Haley, a former student of Mr. Tom Jenkins, now a high school junior considering a career in education! Haley is completing a mentorship as an Educational Intern with Mr. Jenkins this year. In addition to her course load at Greenon, she is also part of a new CTC course called Education Exploration! We love that our #GreenonKnights STEM students, Haley, and Mr. Jenkins, all get to thrive from this mentorship!
