Welcome back #GreenonKnights!
It’s a new year for new adventures! Here’s to a great school year 🎉

Let's give a #GreenonKnights welcome to Drew Kelly, our new Head Men's Basketball coach!
Background in the Sport and Years of Experience: My father and grandfather both coached at high school and college levels, so I literally grew up in a gym around the game of basketball. I played high school basketball for Centennial High School in Franklin, TN and then to Division 1, Morehead State University, where I was a four-year captain. As for coaching, after I finished with my Master’s, I coached for Bath County High School in Kentucky. After that, I was on staff as an assistant coach last year at Greenon. I am excited to continue coaching this program!
Coaching Philosophy: I try to implore a service before self-style of coaching. My faith and walk with Christ over the past few years have really taught me to try to be a servant to others around me. I think basketball can be a great teacher for the challenges that these young men will face in life. For the on-court stuff, I like to push the tempo, sit down and guard. Let the guys be basketball players. These guys will learn to compete till the buzzer sounds and do what it takes to be all in.
For our Knights teams and fans: I’m very blessed and honored to be selected as the next head coach for Greenon High. I married Allie Turner who played here from 2006 to 2010 and it's really cool to be able to pour back into the community that she grew up in. Thanks for GLSD leadership for giving me a chance to coach these young men and God willing, I’m looking forward to being around as your head coach for many years to come.

Some of our #GreenonKnights admin team visited the Greenon FFA Corn booth at The Clark County Fair today 🌽
Don’t forget to stop by to support our students!!

We’d love to see our Greenon Knights community show up and support by placing an order in the McDonald’s App tomorrow!
10% of all digital app sales from the entire day will be donated directly to Greenon Local Schools!
Encourage friends and family to swing by — and be sure to stop in around 1:00 PM, when a special purple guest will be there handing out free backpacks to students (while supplies last)!
Huge thank you to Team Holowicki for choosing our district for this event!

Congratulations to senior Matthew Wiles for being named Enon’s Young Citizen of the Year! Your leadership, dedication, and positive impact on our community makes the #GreenonKnights community proud!

Way to represent the #GreenonKnights! All four groups—Jr. High Winds, Jr. High Band, Jr. High Choir, and High School Choir—earned Superior ratings, the highest possible, at the Kings Mill competition!
A special shoutout to the Jr. High Winds for also bringing home the Top Overall Jr. High Band Award! The students capped off the day with some🎢 fun at Kings Island!

Our annual 4th Grade Art Show was a sweet success! This year’s theme, “Sweet Treats,” had color, creativity, and candy-inspired masterpieces!
#GreenonKnights families joined their student’s to check out the amazing projects our young artists created! Great job 4th grade!

We are honored and excited that the Purple Star Award Day tour stopped by our Greenon campus yesterday! 💜
It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase our efforts to support military-connected students and connect with others in the military education community. During their visit, they also spent time talking with staff members who have children currently serving in the military.
Thank you for visiting!!

Congratulations to our #GreenonKnights Wind Ensemble for earning a rating of Superior, which is the highest rating possible at the OMEA State Adjudicated Event at Troy High School on Friday evening! We are so proud of this talented group of students!🎶

Yesterday we hosted the Dayton Dragons MVP Program at our school! Our #GreenonKnights 4th graders had a blast learning what it means to be an MVP from Gem the mascot and current Dragons players!
Don’t forget—TONIGHT is our Dayton Dragons Elementary Night Out! Come support our high school choir as they perform the national anthem before the game. Let’s go Dragons and go Knights!

Mrs. Martin challenged her 5th graders to learn where all 50 states are on the map—and they delivered!
14 students nailed it with perfect maps and were treated to a special 🐔Chick-fil-A lunch 🐔courtesy of Mrs. Martin.
Way to go #GreenonKnights 5th graders!

Our building was buzzing with 🌎 Day fun! Kindergarten students created crafts, and Greenon’s Science National Honor Society visited Mrs. Lambert’s class to share all about Earth Day and the importance of recycling. Together, they made flowers using recycled materials—plastic bottles became flower stamps, and cardboard and paper scraps transformed into leaves and stems.

The #GreenonKnights Drama Club crushed it with their recent production of Law and Order: Fairy Tale Unit, Rhymes and Misdemeanors! A great job to the entire cast and crew!

💜 We’re celebrating that Greenon Local Schools has been named a Purple Star School 💜
This recognition from @oheducation honors our commitment to supporting military-connected students and their families.
Thank you to our amazing #GreenonKnights staff, students, and community for helping us create a school environment where all students feel seen, supported, and celebrated—especially those who serve in our military!

Today, Superintendent Mr. Knapke and Treasurer Mr. Whitaker had the opportunity to meet with local Representative Dean to give him a tour of our K-12 campus, and discuss the future of Greenon Local Schools. We’re thankful for his time and support as we work together to create success for our #GreenonKnights students and community!

Our Up All Knight coffee shop crew now has matching t-shirts for their Coffee Cart deliveries! Mrs. Godsey’s #GreenonKnights students are proudly serving up caffeine and smiles in style every Friday!
