Welcome! For those of you that I still need to meet, my name is Garth Whitaker, and I am the Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of Greenon Local School District. I became Treasurer in 2021.
Before becoming the Treasurer at Greenon, I served as the Assistant Treasurer at Xenia Community Schools for about three years. Before working for Xenia, I was an Assistant Auditor for the Auditor of the State of Ohio for nearly six years.
I am married to my beautiful wife, Tayebria, and we have two daughters, Hadley and Harper. I received my bachelor's degree in accounting from Wittenberg University in 2013.
As the Treasurer, my primary responsibility is to oversee the district's financial operations. I will continue to provide sound resource management and financial leadership to Greenon Local Schools. I will work closely with our Board of Education, Administrative Team, Teachers, Staff, and Community to ensure our resources are fiscally responsible to support our kids' needs.
